 कभी कभी घिर जाते हैं हम गहरे किसी दलदल में, फँस जाते हैं जिंदगी के चक्के किसी कीचड़ में, तब जिंदगी चलती भी है तो रेंगकर, लगता है सब रुका हुआ सा। बेहोशी में लगता है सब सही है, पता नहीं रहता अपने होने का भी, तब बेहोशी हमें पता नहीं लगने देती कि होश पूरा जा चुका है। ठीक भी है बेहोशी ना हो तो पता कैसे लगाइएगा की होश में रहना क्या होता है, विपरीत से ही दूसरे विपरीत को प्रकाश मिलता है अन्यथा महत्व क्या रह जायेगा किसी भी बात का फिर तो सही भी ना रहेगा गलत भी ना रहेगा सब शून्य रहेगा। बेहोशी भी रूकती नहीं हमेशा के लिए कभी आते हैं ऐसे क्षण भी जब एक दम से यूटूर्न मार जाती है आपकी नियति, आपको लगता है जैसे आँधी आयी कोई और उसने सब साफ कर दिया, बेहोशी गिर गयी धड़ाम से जमीन पर, आपसे अलग होकर। अभी आप देख पा रहे हो बाहर की चीजें साफ साफ, आपको दिख रहा है कि बेहोशी में जो कुछ चल रहा था वो मेरे भीतर कभी नही चला। जो भी था सब बाहर की बात थी, मैं तो बस भूल गया था खुद को बेहोशी में, ध्यान ना रहा था कि सब जो चल रहा था कोई स्वप्न था। खैर जो भी था सही था, जैसी प्रभु की इच्छा, जब मन किया ध्यान में डुबो दिया जब मन कि

Scientific reasons behind Hindu Rituals

Hinduism is the world’s oldest living religion and there are thousands of customs & traditions. Most of us really don’t know what is the scientific reason behind them even we have no idea about it.

1- Blowing Shankha(Conch shell) -

In Hinduism, According to our ancient scriptures that Puranas, the shank originated during the Churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan) by the Deities and Shri Vishnu held it in the form of weapon. As per a holy verse which is regularly chanted during the puja ritual it is mentioned that by the command of Shri Vishnu the deities Moon, Sun and Varun are stationed at the base of the shank, the deity Prajapati on its surface and all the places of pilgrimage like Ganga and Saraswati in its front part.

According to science, the blowing of a conch shell enhances the positive psychological vibrations such as courage, determination hope, optimism as well as it clear environmental pollution including healing the hole in the Ozone layer.

2- Worshiping of Peepal Tree -

Worshiping the Peepal Tree is one of the oldest traditions of Hinduism. The Peepal tree is believed to be Lord Shiva's abode. It is believed that both good and evil souls live in the Peepal tree. The greatness of the worship of this tree lies in that whosoever worships the Peepal tree, gets a reward equal to worshipping Lord Shiva. People also believe that Shanidev will be happy if they blow the Lamp under the tree on every Saturday. But according to science, Peepal is the tree that releases Oxygen for 24 hours.

According to Ayurveda, it leaves help to cure Asthma, fever, and cold. The milk derived from its leaves cures eye pain. Peepal is considered to be the largest oxygen provider, along with Neem and Tulsi. It purifies the surroundings where it is planted and kills bacteria so worshipping it means you would be near its vicinity, and inhale healthy air.

3- Cow is called Maa(Mother) -

As we know, Cow is not just an animal in Hinduism even she is treated like a goddess even Millions of Hindus revere and worship cows. Hinduism is a religion that raises the status of the Mother to the level of the Goddess. Therefore, the cow is considered a sacred animal, as it provides us life-sustaining milk. The cow is seen as a maternal figure, a caretaker of her people. The cow is a symbol of the divine bounty of the earth.

Cow’s milk can be used to make high-quality desi products like ghee, curd, and cream.

As per Ayurvedic treatment Cow, ghee help in the growth and development of the brain as well as cream of milk acts as a natural face pack to kill the pimples even urine of Cow is used in a lot of herbal medicines.

4- Taking the bath in river Ganga -

The history of the Ganga river is old as the Indian civilization. For the years Ganga has been the only spectator of all changes that have shaped the Indian history. Ganga is regarded as the holy river of India. According to the Hindu beliefs, a dip in the Ganga water can wash away all the sins. Thousands of people spend the last days of their life on the bank of the river. Ganga is regarded as the Goddess and is worshiped among the Hindus. Ganga Devi is one of the two daughters of Meru (the Himalayas), the other one is Uma (the consort of Shiva). Every day the Arti (prayer) is done on the bank of the river to pay homage to the Goddess Ganga. Many people in India call Ganga as Ganga Ma. Ganga finds mention in the ancient Hindu scriptures called Rig Veda.

Indian Council of Medical Research said “There is a high concentration of bacteria-phage, these are viruses that infect bacteria and this may account for the purifying properties of Ganga water. It is itself a purification property. that’s why we can store its water for years and it will not spoil.”

5- Wear Tilak(mark) on the forehead -

The Tilak is a mark that is made by any specific finger or by the thumb and sometimes metal stamp is used to draw a Tilak.It can be made of ash from a sacrificial fire, sandalwood paste, turmeric, clay or red lead.Tilak is applied at the Ajna Chakra, the space between the two eyebrows. It has a very cooling effect. The tilak is worn every day by sadhus and pious householders, and on special occasions like weddings and religious rituals. A tilak is also applied by a priest during a visit to the temple as a sign of the deity's blessing, for both men and women (and western tourists, too).

Some scientific facts about Tilak-

1-As researchers said, It battles anxiety and stress by keeping the mind calm and pure even it helps to cool the entire nervous system of the brain.

2-According to Ayurveda, Tilak beats insomnia when we put the paste of sandalwood on the forehead.

3- The most common reason for insomnia is an overactive mind, mental stress, and fatigue. Ayurveda believes massaging this spot with Chandan can relieve stress and insomnia.

6. Wearing Janaeu -

Upanayana ceremony is organized before starting the education of Hindu children. In Upanayana that child wears a sacred thread which is known as Janaeu. A person has to follow some rules if he wears this sacred thread. every cast people wore this at that time when only 4 casts existed in Hindu Brahmin, Kshatriya, Visaya, and Shudra. Our sages made this tradition.

let's see, what is the opinion in science about this ritual?

1-When a man goes for urine or latrine, he hangs and folds Janeu over the right ear

There is a blood vessel named Lohitika on the right ear, it is pressed by Janaeu, it helps to release urine or latrine freely and reduces the diseases related to them.

2-Tying a Juneau on the ears increases one's memory. It also helps in preventing constipation and keep stomach free from diseases.

4- The Janaeu ceremony is always performed sitting cross-legged on the floor. The science behind sitting cross-legged has many health benefits.

The three threads of a Janaeu denote the Goddesses of personal strength (Parvati), wealth (Lakshmi), and knowledge (Saraswati). A man can only lead a good life if he has these three traits and thereby attributes it to these 3 deities.

It is also believed that those who wear Janaeu are free from negative thoughts and energy.

In their research, medical science has found that those who wear Janaeu do not complain about blood pressure as much as those who don’t wear it.

7-Astanga Yoga-

At its broadest, yoga, from the root word “Yuj” in Sanskrit, means to unite. Most Hindu texts discuss yoga as a practice to control the ultimately, the mind. The most famous is the Bhagavad Gita (dating back to 6th-3rd Century BCE3), in which Krishna speaks of four types of yoga - bhakti, or devotion; jnana, or knowledge; karma, or action; and dhyana, or concentration (often referred to as Raja yoga, though not all sources agree on the term) - as paths to achieving moksha, the goal for Hindus.

Astanga Yoga (8limbs of yoga) is the fundamental of Yoga Sutra. Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pratyahaar, Pranayam, Dharna, Dhyan and Samadhi are those 8 limbs.

    8- Chanting Om(sound of Om) -

    Om is a solemn and sacred exclamation. Chanting Om is a purifying experience. It is also transliterated into English as AUM, The three-syllable A, U, and M shows and salutes Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh and invokes their blessings. Omkar(Chanting the word OM) is the most traditional practice which is followed by Indians even Om is the spiritual icon of Hinduism. It is also a Mantra in Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism.

    Some scientific Facts behind Chanting Om-

    1. Scientists analyzed that chanting Om Mantra can treat depression, epilepsy as well. it gives peace and steadiness to our mind and reduces mental stress. It can place you in a meditational state which gives you deep relaxation.

    2. Om chanting actually improves your voice by giving strength to your vocal cords and the muscles around it. This is very helpful during old age.

    3. If you’re looking at the spiritual eye while chanting, your eyesight will start improving.

    4. Through chanting and meditation, you can have better control over your emotions, thus allowing you to see situations with a clear and rational mind.

9- Worshipping Tulasi Plant -

“Every home with a Tulasi plant is a place of pilgrimage, and no diseases, messengers of Yama, the God of Death, can enter it.”

Since the old days, Hindu people worship the tulsi tree every day except Sunday and watered the Tulasi plant after finishing the prayer of a morning, as well as they, blew a lamp under Tulasi Tree in the evening time.
